I Love You Because…
Myself and a few friends have joined a correspondence writing course in which we receive weekly emails that include a verse (written by our tutor, Julia Fehrenbacher) along with a writing prompt, suggestions for preparation and going deeper and an affirmation or mantra to carry with us through the week. It’s rich stuff.
It’s rarely possible for us all to keep to a weekly rhythm, so we are allowing space to breathe in and out of it as we can. My friend Gary and I have been sharing our writing with each other, which adds another rich element and encourages us both to stay on track with this commitment. We have also been encouraging each other to put our writing out into the world. I admit this brings another level of vulnerability for me, but that’s what this is all about, so here goes. These are the results of our first week.
Written by Me I love you because you are you. I love you for no other reason... Than that you exist. I love you because you are A child of the universe. Divine, unique and perfect Just as you are. What I really want to say is... You don't need to change a thing To be loved. You are loved regardless of the things you call your faults. You are loved because you accept the things you call your faults. You are loved because you strive to overcome the things You call your faults. You are Loved. In every moment, In every day, And in every way, Just because You are you And you are beautiful.
Written by Gary I love you because you have a desire to see good in this world You go about life not realising that your every interaction brings a holy communion between you and the people you meet There are moments which make you believe that you are hindering your goals, your dreams or the journey that you see others on But it is all through design. Don’t linger on the words you didn’t say or the actions you wished you had taken there is purpose in everything. Leave all that has gone before behind you and welcome all that comes your way You cannot control other people's perceptions but you can change yours to see the good the spirit in every moment and that spirit of goodness and of God is within you, part of you. With this thought comes unity this is the light you bring by being you. To Gary, from the spirit within.
